Traditional fibreglass pools follow a basic construction method: a gelcoat application to the mould, followed by a Vinyl Ester resin and fibreglass layer, built up with general-purpose resin and external stiffeners. While this seems adequate, these pools are fundamentally flawed. They require extensive stabilized sand-cement backfilling to prevent cracking under water pressure, demand concrete bond beams for stability, and remain vulnerable to underground water pressure that can cause shell deformation and structural failure.
